ÖRNEKLER KULLANIM

CONDITIONAL 0

If I am late, my father takes me to school. (Eğer geç kalırsam, okula babam götürür.)

She doesn't worry if Jack stays out after school. (Jack eğer okuldan sonra dışarıda kalırsa, annesi endişelenmez.)

If + Simple Present Tense ....... Simple Present Tense

Yapı: If + (do) (do)

Doğruluğunu hiçbir zaman kaybetmeyen eylemlerde, conditional 0 kullanılır. Buradaki şarta bağlı olan olay, her zaman geçerlidir ve asla değişmez.

CONDITIONAL 1

If it rains, we will stay at home. (Eğer yağmur yağarsa, evte kalacağız.)


He will arrive late unless he hurries up. (Eğer acele etmezse, geç kalacak.)


Peter will buy a new car, if he wins the lottery. (Peter piyangoyu kazanırsa, araba alacak.)

Birinci tip: If + Simple Present Tense ...... Future Tense

Yapı: If + (do) (will do)

Bu yapı gelecekle ilgili olması muhtemel, mümkün olayları anlatır.

NOT

Conditional 1'de genellikle "şayet....değilse/olmazsa" anlamına gelen unless (medikçe, -madıkça) kulllanılır, diğer bir deyişle, "...unless he hurries up (acele etmedikçe)." , "...if he doesn't hurry up.(acele etmezse)" şeklinde de yazılabilir.

Açıklama: unless cümleyi tek başına olumsuzlaştırır dolasıyla tekrardan eylemi olumsuz yapmanıza gerek yoktur.

CONDITIONAL 2


If he studied more, he would pass the exam. (Çalışsaydı sınavı geçerdi.)


I would lower taxes if I were the President. (Eğer ben cumhurbaşkanı olsam, vergileri indirirdim.)


They would buy a new house if they had more money. (Daha fazla paraları olsa ev alırlardı.)

İkinci tip: If + Simple Past Tense ............ would
Yapı: If + (did) (would do)

Bu yapı şimdiki zaman ve geniş zamanla ilgili olması pek mümkün olmayan imkansız olan, o andaki gerçeklere ters düşen olayları anlatmak için kullanılır. Ancak zaman olarak bu olayların olması mümkündür, zaman henüz geçmemiştir.

Örneğin; Yüz milyon dolarım olsaydı...(ki yok)

NOT: "to be" eylemi, 2nd conditional formunda kullanıldığında, her zaman 'were' olarak kullanılır.

Örneğin, If I were the president...

CONDITIONAL 3


If he had known that, he would have decided differently. (Eğer bilseydim, daha farklı karar verebilirdi.)


Jane would have found a new job if she had stayed in Boston. (Jane eğer Boston'da kalsaydı yeni bir iş bulurdu.)

Üçüncü tip: If + Past Perfect Tense ... would have + V3
Yapı: If + ( had done ) would have done

Bu yapı geçmişte kalan olayları anlatmak için kullanılır.

Bu yapıda iş işten geçmiş ve bunun aksinin olması artık mümkün değildir. Kimi zaman bu yapıyla kurulan cümlelerde pişmanlık duygusu vardır.
